“Dallas,” the longest-running current primetime dramatic series on television, reaches another milestone today when it begins production on its 350th episode.
“Dallas,” which entered its 14th season last Friday, ranks second on the all-time longevity list of total episodes produced by an hour-long drama.
“Gunsmoke” tops the list with 402 episodes.
The 350th episode of the CBS series, which premiered in April, 1978, will air in the spring.
It will feature brothers J. R. and Bobby Ewing, played by Larry Hagman and Patrick Duffy, leading their sons on an old-fashioned cattle drive on the Southfork range.
