The Tree Society of Orange County, an educational and environmental organization, is inviting county residents to participate in a tree planting Nov. 10.
The group aims to plant about 400 drought-tolerant trees and shrubs in the open space at the corner of Hermosa and Lakeside drives in Fullerton. The society is working with other environmental groups around the state who are striving to plant at least 20 million trees in California before the year 2000.
The planting is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon and refreshments will be served. Anyone interested in participating should bring a shovel. For more information, call the Tree Society at (714) 449-7170.
