Damage Award: An Orange County Superior Court jury levied $1 million in punitive damages against four partners of Trammell Crow Co. for cutting a local brokerage out of a commission in the 1985 purchase of an Irvine office building. Earlier, the jury had ruled that the partnership should pay $6 million to Lee & Associates for fraudulently cutting it out of the $340-million sale of Fluor Corp. headquarters. The total award, with interest, will be $9.2 million. Attorneys for the partners--William Lane Jr., Thomas A. Bailey, Joel C. Peterson and J. McDonald Williams--did not comment on the verdict, which is expected to be appealed.
