COLLEGE FOOTBALL REPORT / WEEKDAY UPDATE : USC : Beavers’ Quarterback, Tackle Suspended
- Share via
Oregon State quarterback Matt Booher and offensive tackle Brad D’Ancona will sit out Saturday’s game against USC because of violating team rules.
The suspension was announced Thursday by the Oregon State athletic department. The announcement did not say what rules the two seniors violated.
Booher has started six games this season. He will be replaced by redshirt freshman Fred Schweer, who has started three games, including the Beavers’ lone victory over Arizona four weeks ago. Adam Albaugh will move from right tackle to D’Ancona’s left tackle position. Matt Miner will take Albaugh’s spot at right tackle.
The suspensions are the latest development in what has been a difficult season for Coach Dave Kragthorpe. Oregon State is 1-8 overall and 1-4 in the Pac-10. Last Saturday, the Beavers lost at Arizona State, 34-9, and Kragthorpe was so upset after the game that he refused to let his players talk with reporters.
