LA HABRA — Host La Habra High School broke the ice with 3 minutes 12 seconds remaining on a 22-yard field goal by Bryan Cierley and went on to beat Troy, 10-0, Friday in a Freeway League game.
The lackluster victory gave La Habra (6-4, 2-3) fourth place in the league. Troy’s disappointing season ended at 3-7, 1-4.
Less than a minute after the field goal, La Habra’s Brian Burchit sacked sophomore quarterback John Ledieff, forcing a fumble. La Habra tackle Robert Coats scooped up the ball and ran 13 yards into the end zone to seal the victory.
Jason Johnson rushed for 150 yards in 23 carries, including one for 74 yards, for La Habra.
