Jogis Gains Semifinal in Badminton Event

At the Carlton U.S. Open Badminton Championships at UC Irvine, Chris Jogis of Manhatten Beach advanced to one of the men’s semifinals with a 15-10, 15-2 victory over Fredrick D’Amours of Canada.
Jogis will play Bambang Suprianto of India today. Suprianto defeated Heinz Fischer of Australia, 15-9, 15-6 to advance. In the other semifinal, Tariq Wadood of Redondo Beach will play Fung Permadi of India.
