SOUTHLAND ROUNDUP : Cal Poly SLO Tunes Up for Playoffs, 26-10

Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, tuning up for its first NCAA Division II playoff appearance since 1980, defeated Millersville University (Pa.), 26-10, in a nonconference game Saturday at San Luis Obispo.
The eighth-ranked Mustangs, co-champion of the Western Football Conference, finished the regular season 9-1, their best record since 1973. Millersville is 7-3.
Senior running back Joe Fragiadakis gained 208 yards in 23 carries and scored three touchdowns.
University of San Diego 21, Azusa Pacific 10--Scott Sporrer rushed for 145 yards in 20 carries and scored two touchdowns to lead the Toreros (7-2) over the Cougars (6-3) in a nonconference game at Azusa Pacific.
Redlands 37, Whittier 7--Brian Harmon passed for 239 yards and three touchdowns as the Bulldogs (8-1, 5-0) defeated the Poets (0-9, 0-5) in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game at Redlands.
La Verne 37, Claremont-Mudd 7--La Verne Coach Roland Ortmayer concluded a 45-year college coaching career as the Leopards (4-5, 3-2) defeated the Stags (2-7, 2-3) in a SCIAC game at La Verne.
Occidental 42, Pomona-Pitzer 10--Scott Thompson passed for 302 yards and three touchdowns as the Tigers (6-3, 4-1) beat the Sagehens (3-5, 2-3) in the SCIAC finale at Pomona.
Western New Mexico 48, UC Santa Barbara 10--Kevin Jolley, Lavon Worley and John O’Meara each rushed for more than 100 yards as Western New Mexico (7-1-1) defeated the Gauchos (5-4) in a nonconference game at Goleta.
