MARTIN SCORSESE’S OBSESSION

Like Scorsese, I grew up on the mean streets of New York and am of Italian descent. Unlike him, however, I do not dwell on the negativity of such experiences. As for being worshiped by Europeans, they also loved Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin. Are the moguls so desperate for material they must opt for Mafia worship and sacrilege? Is the questionable art of this pathetic misanthrope all Hollywood can bankroll?
Sorry, Hollywood, but my moral upbringing did not include criminals among my role models. The kids I knew believe in civility and wanted to grow up and become ball players, not gangsters. Making movies to show there is no difference between good and evil is not entertainment.
