WESTMINSTER : Ceremony to Honor Persian Gulf Troops
- Share via
A candlelight ceremony and choral performance Friday at 7 p.m. at the Westminster Mall will honor troops in the Persian Gulf and their families.
The Garden Grove Symphony and choir groups from Westminster, Fountain Valley and Ocean View high schools will perform with a military color guard, and Santa Claus will make an appearance. Between Nov. 23 and Dec. 2, people are invited to drop off packages at the mall that are destined for military personnel in the gulf. The packages will be taken to the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station and transported oversees by the military for free.
Program organizers said they prefer that packages be addressed to any service people, but the military will attempt to deliver to specific individuals if packages are so addressed.
The mall is at Bolsa Avenue and Golden West Street.
