Coke Buys Time for Olympics: Coca-Cola Co. reached agreements with both CBS and NBC for advertising rights to the 1992 Winter and Summer Olympics for a combined buy of more than $60 million. The soft-drink maker also will sponsor ads aired by the networks to promote the games as well as commercials during the Olympic broadcasts. Of course, the key Olympic buy for Coca-Cola will be in 1996, when the Summer Olympics are scheduled to take place in Coca-Cola’s back yard, Atlanta.
