A 9-year-old Canoga Park boy told police his father used cocaine, leading to the father’s arrest, authorities said Thursday.
Daniel Lee Hain Sr., 35, was arrested Tuesday and held on suspicion of felony child endangerment for using cocaine in the boy’s presence, Los Angeles Police Sgt. Roger Ferguson said.
Officers entered Hain’s home in the 22000 block of Saticoy Street with a search warrant and found narcotics paraphernalia and paper work indicating drug transactions, Ferguson said. Two men who were also in the house at the time of the search were arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of cocaine.
The warrant was issued because “the 9-year-old told authorities that his dad was doing cocaine inside the house,” the sergeant said.
