The Du Pont Co. took over sponsorship of the former Tour de Trump, the United States’ premier cycling race, which will be sanctioned internationally as a professional event next year.
Donald Trump ended his multimillion-dollar involvement in the two-year-old race because of financial troubles. A spokesman for Du Pont said the company plans a long-term commitment to the race, which is held in the late spring along the East Coast.
