PHILADELPHIA — A former state senator who now is assistant budget director of Philadelphia Traffic Court owes $1,967 in traffic fines and says he has no intention of paying.
“Why . . . should I pay,” T. Milton Street told the Philadelphia Inquirer, using an expletive to emphasize his resolve. “My rights have been violated. They violate people’s rights (at Traffic Court) every day.”
Street contended the court violated drivers’ rights by requiring them to post collateral in the amount of their fines before an appeal hearing.
