O.C. Teams Vie for Girls’ Tennis Titles

Three Orange County high schools will vie for team titles during the Southern Section girls’ tennis finals today at the Claremont Tennis Club in Claremont.
In Division 4-A, two-time defending champion and No. 2-seeded Corona del Mar (21-2) will face top-seeded Palos Verdes (20-0) at 9 a.m.
In Division 2-A, Empire League champion and top-seeded Los Alamitos (15-2) will play Freeway League champion and No. 2-seeded Sunny Hills (21-2) at 10 a.m. in an all-county match.
Corona del Mar advanced to the championship match with a 13-5 victory over South Coast League champion Dana Hills in one semifinal last Thursday, and Ocean League champion Palos Verdes qualified by defeating South Coast League runner-up Capistrano Valley in the other semifinal.
Los Alamitos and Sunny Hills made it to the final by beating Mater Dei and El Dorado, respectively, in the semifinals.
