Not-So-Plain Jane: The L.A.-based rock band Jane’s Addiction said Tuesday that fear of compromising its “artistic direction” prompted its members to shorten a concert held at a suburban Philadelphia theater. But the show’s promoter said that band leader Perry Farrell left the stage abruptly after a 40-minute performance Monday night because he didn’t like the audience. Fans at the concert, held at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, didn’t like the band’s decision. When the four members refused to return to the stage, fans rushed outside and began throwing bottles and stones. Fans will get a partial refund on their tickets, the concert promoter said.
