Peter A. Pender; One of World’s Best Bridge Players

Peter A. Pender, 54, considered one of the world’s leading bridge players. Pender, of San Francisco, and his partner, Hugh Ross of Oakland, were members of a California foursome that won several national titles and one world championship (the 1985 Bermuda Bowl in Brazil) in the last several years. Last year the team finished second to Brazil in the Bermuda Bowl competition in Australia. In 1966 Pender was judged the best overall bridge player in the nation and was awarded the McKenney Trophy.
