AT THE OFFICE: Companies are cutting back plans for their holiday parties, as far as caterer Alan Greeley can tell. . . . “There’s a lot of caution in the wind. I don’t think we’re pouring as much French champagne as in years past.” . . . Even giants like the Irvine Co. have blue-penciled gifts for clients. Said a spokesman: “We felt, both in light of the economic times and the recent cutbacks in our overhead, the gifts wouldn’t be appropriate.”
