A funeral Mass for former high school coach and principal Bernard J. Donahue is scheduled Friday at 10 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church in Encinitas.

Donahue, 81, died Sunday. He was captain and center of the Loyola University football team in 1929 and was inducted into the school’s athletic Hall of Fame. He coached football at Torrance and Hamilton high schools.
