Countywide : Farm Workers May Apply for Residency
- Share via
Farm workers who already have temporary resident status in the United States under the immigration amnesty program may apply for permanent residency starting Dec. 1.
Applications, which cost $35 to process, are available at the Immigration and Naturalization Service office at 400 South A St. in Oxnard. Each applicant must bring a green card and passport, if they have one, and fill out the form in person.
El Concilio del Condado de Ventura will offer workshops to help farm workers complete their applications.
Participants must bring a money order for the $35 processing fee and $30 for El Concilio’s services, which include informing applicants of their rights, reviewing the legalities and taking photographs.
The workshops will be held Nov. 30, Dec. 7 and Dec. 14 at El Concilio, 528 South A St. in Oxnard; and Dec. 1 at the Santa Paula Vocational Center, 105 Dean Drive. For information, call 486-4587.
