Day-Care Double Talk
We are a small group of homeowners struggling to prevent the establishment of a commercial day-care and preschool on our street which is zoned R-1, low density.
We are not opposed to day-care since there are already two homes on the block providing this service. We are opposed to expansion into a large-scale commercial operation.
Prior to the public hearing on Sept. 14, we sent petitions signed by 75 neighbors opposed to the project to Mayor Bradley. He never tried to contact us to hear our side of the story. Instead he sent a representative to the hearing who spoke eloquently in favor of the school.
Our attempts to learn why the mayor’s office chose to ignore the concerns of the local residents have been met with indifference and political double talk by the mayor’s staff.
