SAN DIEGO — Christian Heritage converted nine of 12 free throws in the final six minutes and pulled away from Christ College Irvine, 68-65, in Friday’s opening round of the UC San Diego Triton tournament.
Corey Smith led Christ College Irvine with 16 points.
Christian Heritage set school records for fewest field goal attempts (39) and free throw attempts (46) in a game. Christian Heritage, which advances to tonight’s championship game, made 29 free throws.
