A mild earthquake measuring 2.0 on the Richter scale rattled windows and jostled light sleepers in the Ventura area from their slumber early Saturday.
The 5:54 a.m. quake was centered two miles northwest of Ventura, said Robert Finn of the Seismological Laboratory at Caltech in Pasadena. Finn said the temblor was “at the low edge of what a person can feel.”
Lt. Mike Gullon of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department said there were no reports of injuries or damage but that he was awakened by the quake in his mid-town Ventura house.
“It shook the windows of my house like a sonic boom,” Gullon said.
