Graham’s Latest: The Martha Graham Dance Company will perform the West Coast premiere of “Maple Leaf Rag” during its Jan. 4-6 engagement at the Orange County Performing Arts Center, according to a change of programming announcement. The piece is the 96-year-old Graham’s latest work, and was first performed last month in New York. It is set to music by Scott Joplin and features costumes by Calvin Klein. Two additional works will be added to the Orange County engagement: “Steps in the Street,” which Graham choreographed in 1937, and “Herodiade,” another West Coast premiere.
