Machine Tool Orders Rise: Foreign demand boosted orders for U.S.-made machine tools in October, despite a soft outlook for the domestic manufacturing industry. October orders rose 1.9% from September to $269.3 million, an increase of 31.4% from October, 1989, according to the Assn. for Manufacturing Technology.
