Alzheimer’s Assn. Chapter Ready to Help
November is National Alzheimer’s Disease Month. During this time, the Ventura County chapter of the Alzheimer’s Assn. seeks to enhance public awareness of what has been called “the hidden epidemic.”
Eighty percent of people with Alzheimer’s disease are cared for at home, usually by their aging spouses or working children. These families and care-givers face tremendous emotional, physical and financial hardships. Lifelong plans are put off and dreams disrupted while the disease unfolds.
The Alzheimer’s Assn. works to find the cause and cure of Alzheimer’s disease, and provide support and assistance to Alzheimer’s patients and their families. The Ventura County chapter is part of the association’s national network.
As our identifying phrase, “Someone to Stand by You” suggests, the Ventura chapter is ready to help Alzheimer’s families here in Ventura County. If you or someone you know needs help, we encourage you to call us. They don’t have to bear this terrible burden alone.
