American Stores Co.: The Salt Lake City operator of grocery chains and drugstores--including Lucky Stores, Alpha Beta Co., Osco Drug and Sav-on--said third-quarter net income jumped 64% to $30.9 million, while revenue increased 3% to $5.4 billion. The latest quarter includes gains on sales of the Buttrey Food and Drug division and other assets.
