McConathy and Bates Make College Choices

Cypress College’s Doug McConathy has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at USC, and teammate Jason Bates has signed with Arizona.
McConathy, a sophomore infielder from Western High School, batted .400 with eight home runs and 41 runs batted in during his freshman season at Cypress.
Bates, a sophomore infielder from Esperanza, hit .272 with four home runs and 25 RBI last season.
