La Puente : New City Manager Named

The City Council on Tuesday appointed Robert G. Gutierrez to replace retiring City Manager Frank Ruiz, beginning Jan. 1.
Gutierrez, 36, has been the city manager of La Habra Heights since 1982 and also spent two years as an administrative assistant to the city manager in Rosemead.
A resident of La Verne, Gutierrez will take over his new position, which includes the duties of city clerk, at a salary of $79,200 per year. Ruiz announced his retirement earlier this year.
