Detonating Devices Found in Car

A rental car with 50 blasting caps in the trunk was found at a Torrance car rental agency Wednesday, causing the evacuation of everyone within a 300-foot radius while sheriff’s bomb squad detectives removed the detonating devices, Torrance police said.
No injuries were reported and no arrests had been made Wednesday evening, Lt. Mike Tamble said. Police were called about 5:10 p.m. to the Avis Rent-a-Car and Madrona Car Wash on Sepulveda Boulevard, Tamble said.
