Jorge Luviano set a Magnolia High School single-game record with four goals in the Sentinels’ 4-1 victory over Rancho Alamitos in the season-opening boys’ soccer game for both teams, at Magnolia.
Roger Crawford held the old record of three, set last year.
In other nonleague boys’ soccer games:
Bolsa Grande 5, Western 0--Elvis Carrillo scored two goals and Yamiel Hernandez, Jeff Miller, and Dennis Johnson had one each for host Bolsa Grande.
Capistrano Valley 5, El Rancho 2--Ryan Damato had three goals and David Sibbrel and Dave Berman had one each for host Capistrano Valley.
University 3, Laguna Beach 0--Josh Dake, Adam Clarke and Ralph Rivera scored for host University.
Santa Margarita 1, Dana Hills 0--Jerome Pierce scored in the second half for host Santa Margarita.
Laguna Hills 2, Foothill 1--Juan Strutton and Julio Montes scored for visiting Laguna Hills. Jon Jacobs scored for Foothill.
In nonleague girls’ soccer:
Rosary 0, Anaheim 0--Kelly Wooliever had 21 saves for host Anaheim. Helen Baron had two saves for Rosary.
