The NCAA Committee on Infractions will release its decision in the 13-year-old case involving basketball Coach Jerry Tarkanian of Nevada Las Vegas at noon today. The committee ruled on July 20 that UNLV, the defending national champion, will be ineligible for postseason competition after the 1990-91 season. In the last month, however, the committee has considered a series of alternative sanctions that would allow the Rebels to defend their title.
