WINNIPEG, Manitoba — Center Thomas Steen will be out for six to eight weeks with a fractured ankle, the Winnipeg Jets announced today.
Steen, the Jets’ leading scorer with six goals and 19 assists in 25 games, was injured during the second period in Winnipeg’s 2-2 tie with the Calgary Flames on Wednesday.
Steen was checked heavily into the boards by Flames defenseman Gary Suter and had to be helped from the ice. Suter received an interference penalty on the play.
