COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Pauley’s 26 Points Pace Cypress College

Sophomore center Eric Pauley scored 26 points to help Cypress College defeat San Diego Mesa, 78-69, in the first round of the Golden West men’s basketball tournament Wednesday.
Cypress (5-4) led, 40-33, at the half but San Diego Mesa cut the lead to four points before Pauley’s layup with 2 minutes 9 seconds to play boosted the margin to 68-62.
Sam Sabbara scored 14 for Cypress, which plays Riverside at 6 p.m. in Friday in one semifinal.
