MISSION VIEJO : Ideas Are Sought on Parks’ Development

Ideas from the public about upgrading two major parks will be sought Tuesday at a hearing of the Parks and Recreation Department.
The hearing will be at 7 p.m. in council chambers to discuss the 82-acre Wilderness Glen Park and the 89-acre Oso Viejo Park and Jeronimo Greenbelt.
City officials are seeking to preserve Wilderness Glen Park, where trees and brush are allowed to grow untouched, as a sort of environmental schoolyard.
Oso Viejo Park, which already contains a community center and athletic fields, has large areas still open for further recreational development. The Jeronimo Greenbelt currently features a walking and biking trail, and several passive-recreation areas are planned for the future, city officials say.
