ANAHEIM — A 27-year-old man died today after being struck in the back by a single gunshot Sunday night while trying to flee an altercation in a downtown alley, Anaheim police said.
Robert Rosado, whose address was unknown by authorities, was pronounced dead at 5:17 a.m. today at UCI Medical Center in Orange.
Police said witnesses reported seeing three men fighting about 7 p.m. Sunday in an alley in the 500 block of East Wilhelmina Street. The witnesses said one of the men, who was later identified by police as Rosado, attempted to run from the fight. As he did, one of the two suspects pulled a handgun and fired once, hitting Rosado in the back.
The men then fled on foot. Police say they do not know what set off the altercation and have made no arrests in the case.
