‘Davis’ Hopes to Break Rule: ABC has scheduled “Davis Rules,” a situation comedy starring Randy Quaid as an elementary school principal, to debut after the Super Bowl Jan. 27. Despite the promotional push of the Super Bowl, television’s most-watched event nearly every year, only three of eight new series debuting after the game have been renewed for the following season. Last season, CBS dropped its post-Super Bowl show “Grand Slam” less than a month after its premiere.
