LA Valley Hits Boards to Beat Saddleback

Los Angeles Valley College dominated Saddleback on the boards and won, 67-51, in the first round of the Riverside women’s basketball tournament Monday.

Tisa Rush had 15 points and nine rebounds and Wendy Bruse added 12 points and 13 rebounds as LA Valley (11-1) outrebounded the Gauchos by 19. LA Valley had four players with at least 10 rebounds each.

Erin Schimeneck had 14 points and seven rebounds and Kristen Okura had seven points and 12 rebounds for Saddleback (8-3), which had its six-game winning streak ended.
