THE SIDELINES : Darwin Signs With Red Sox

BOSTON — Free agent Danny Darwin, who pitched for the Houston Astros the past 4 1/2 seasons, signed a four-year contract today with the Boston Red Sox.
Terms of the contract were not disclosed by the Red Sox. But Darwin’s agent, Randy Hendricks, said today the contract was worth a possible $12.2 million.
