SOMETHING OLD: They are not on the charts yet, but the priests and seminarians at St. Michael’s Abbey near El Toro (E1) are at least in the music stores. Their choir (including Frater Justin Ramos, above) has recorded 1,500-year-old Latin Gregorian chants, and an estimated 2,000 CDs and cassettes have been sold by the Tower Records chain since October. . . . The choir does not have polish, concedes the abbey’s music director, but “we did not want it to sound professional because that’s not what we’re about.”
