Lloyd’s Issues Warning of Mine Risk in Gulf

LONDON — Lloyd’s of London warned ships in the Persian Gulf on Friday about a risk of mines off the Arabian coast near the border of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Lloyd’s shipping agency said it had received a navigation warning from Washington dated Dec. 27 which “advises mariners to exercise extreme caution in the vicinity of the Az Zuluf oil field due to the probable presence of mines.”
