Michael Soylular has been named boys’ volleyball coach at Laguna Beach High School.
Soylular comes to Laguna Beach from the University of Virginia, where he was an assistant coach for the women’s team. He also was an assistant coach at Wichita State and Cal Poly Pomona and was the head coach at Arkansas.
Soylular replaces Lance Stewart, who resigned last fall and is now an assistant with the UC Irvine men’s team.
Corona del Mar and Marina are expected to announce their new volleyball coaches next week.
