Games Provide Diversion During Trying Times

For the past 15 months, the sight of Mike Downey’s name has brought back painful memories of his pompous column calling for the cancellation of the 1989 World Series because of the earthquake.
The sanctimonious article wanted to make the victims’ lives even more miserable by taking away the one good thing they had to look forward to.
Last Thursday, it was acknowledged that a mistake had been made.
Thank you, Mr. Downey, for admitting you were wrong and therefore restoring my faith in humanity.
