‘Islamic Giant’ Will Defeat U.S., Sudan Says

KHARTOUM, Sudan — Iraq, joined by Muslims worldwide, will defeat the United States and the allied forces in the Persian Gulf war, Sudan’s military strongman predicted Saturday .
“Iraq has proved that the power of faith in God is stronger than all weapons and that there is a God for the universe who is above Israel and America and all the armies they amass,” Lt. Gen. Omar Hassan Ahmed Bashir said in a nationally broadcast speech.
“The Islamic giant will rise and knock down the ceiling on their heads,” he said.
