And the Winners Are: Dan Bootzin, 30, an advanced cinema student at Los Angeles City College, took top prize in the short film category at the Berlin Film Festival, winning out over 170 entries from throughout the world. . . . The comedy team Blue Velveeta from Chicago edged funny finalists from Los Angeles and Minneapolis to win the “Team Comedy Challenge National Championship” Tuesday night at the Comedy Store, ending a yearlong search for the country’s best improvisational group. . . . The first Leslie Stevens Fellowship for Television Writing, in the amount of $2,500, goes to Robin Riordan, a 1987 USC graduate who is an assistant to a TV writer-producer and also a stand-up comedian who trained at Second City and the Groundlings.
