That Secure Feeling: Did the war make your landlord nervous? United Security Industries thinks so. The Orange County branch of the Santa Monica-based security firm says inquiries from landlords about securing their buildings jumped by 20% or so last month.
Some of those landlords, anxious about possible terrorism spawned by the war, wanted to know what they could do to beef up their security, says Dan Fisher, manager of the company’s Orange County branch. A few tips for landlords, says Fisher: Adhere strictly to any sign-in, sign-out provisions the building may have, and alert security immediately about unattended packages in lobbies or parking garages.
