Alhambra : Toys Donated to Police
To encourage children who are crime victims or witnesses to cooperate with investigators, the Police Department will hand out stuffed animals and other toys to children.
A nonprofit group in Orange County, Project Cuddle, is donating the toys to the department, which will then present them to children who have been abused or abandoned, or who have witnessed crimes where their testimony is needed. The group has already given toys to 20 Orange County cities.
“Alhambra’s child population is increasing tremendously,” Alhambra Police Chief Russell Siverling said in a prepared statement. “We anticipate that Project Cuddle will help us provide better care for child victims and will indirectly assist in investigations.”
