GenCorp Inc.: The Fairlawn, Ohio manufacturer of aerospace, automotive and related polymer products lost $2 million in its first quarter of 1991 in contrast with income of $22 million a year ago. The company cited an operating loss at its automotive segment caused by the decline in domestic vehicle production. Sales from continuing operations increased 24% to $433 million, mainly because of sales increases at Aerojet, its aerospace/defense unit.
