A matchup between nationally ranked baseball teams and a softball doubleheader at Cal State Northridge were washed out because of rain Tuesday.
Northridge’s baseball team (22-10-1), ranked 20th in the nation, was to play host to ninth-ranked Cal State Long Beach (23-9) but the game was called off and probably will be rescheduled for next week.
Northridge and Ohio State made it into the second inning of what was scheduled to be the first of two softball games before heavy rains hit. The Matadors were leading, 1-0, when the game was called. It will not be rescheduled.
Northridge (24-21) is scheduled to play host to 16th-ranked Oregon (14-12) in a softball doubleheader today at 1:30 p.m. Oregon defeated Northridge, 4-0, in the Arizona Classic last month.
The baseball team is off until Thursday when it is scheduled to play host to Hartford at 2 p.m.
