WATER POLO : Outdoor Nationals at CS Long Beach

The top 12 teams in the country will compete in the U.S. Water Polo Men’s Outdoor Nationals that start today at 7 a.m. in the Cal State Long Beach pool.

Harvard Water Polo of Los Angeles will be trying for its fourth consecutive title.

Harvard, 18-0 in the last three national tournaments, is led by goalie Craig Wilson, a 1984 and ’88 Olympian who was most valuable player of the last three national tournaments.

Wilson is one of several U.S. Senior Men’s National Team members in the tournament.

Harvard, Newport Beach, the University of California club team and a team composed of current and former Cal State Long Beach players are the favorites.

There will be 12 games today and 12 Saturday. The title game will be Sunday at 3 p.m.
