The Yugoslav government condemned attacks on journalists after a crowd beat up two international news agency photographers covering ethnic gun battles in Croatia. About 30 armed Croats attacked Petar Kujundzic, 32, of Reuters news agency, and Dusan Vranic, 29, of the Associated Press at a roadblock near the Croatian town of Vukovar. The two said the crowd beat them with fists and rifles, and threatened to kill them. Kujundzic said the crowd broke Vranic’s nose, vandalized their car, stole personal belongings and smashed their equipment.
